I know exactly what you mean! Their harmonies have this mosquito-like buzz to them. Maybe their voices are too alike?Anything Dixie Chicks. For some reason their harmonies elicit that “nails on chalkboard”, hackles up, heebie-jeebie sensation.
Maybe so! Glad I’m not the only one!I know exactly what you mean! Their harmonies have this mosquito-like buzz to them. Maybe their voices are too alike?![]()

I think we share a lot of music tastes.Ive been places, over the years, where that's a real happening. Sorry, it's a very descriptive song of real things that have happened...
I sometimes wish I could go back in time to that era. But then I remember current things i couldn't do w/o, LOL.
There are a few older songs (probably mostly country) that are also stories that are or could have happened.
************** EDIT ************** & then I realized I did this whole post backwards
Sticking my head back in the sand

Ive found, over the years, some of my music tastes have changed. Very eclectic, I guess. Love some of the older country songs - cool water & ghost riders in the sky (by Sons of the Pioneers), LOVE some Johnny Horton songs - North to Alaska, sink the Bismarck, battle of New Orleans, Commanche (better have a box of tissue).
Gordon lightfoot's song - the wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald; Dan Fogelberg - Run for the Roses (about KY Derby) & Leader of the Band.
Country crooner, pop, folk, ? - Marty Robbins - El Paso, El Paso City, a few others...
A couple of John Denver's, some of the Judd's, Terri Clark...
A family of military, truckers, CBers & farmers - like marching (the sometimes crude ones that helps a soldier to march & to run while developing wind & distance)& trucking songs - Convoy, Wolf Creek Pass, Teddy Bear, Phantom 309
Does anyone know that Chris Ledoux & his dad produced 22 C/W/folk albums out of his basement - long before he became a main stream c&w singer? Some of those songs are pretty awesome! I had a few tapes, at one point, that I got at a rodeo... There are/were other singers as well, still going strong regardless of "regular"
A theme - ballad/story songs about specific eras. Some are folksy, some country, some pop etc.
Then I like instrumental. Not so much the classics (yes I like some, but...definitely not a classic fanatic) - Atlanta Pops, Boston Pops (another i can.not.bring to mind). Then into what was classed as "New Age" in the 80's- Kitaro (yep, still playing), Tangerine Dream, Full Circle, Kenny G, again many others i cant think of at the moment. Maybe due to mom's influence - she was a marching band drummer (*an Iowa farm GIIRL, no less!!*) whose High School Marching Band from Kiron, IA went to the Rose Bowl Parade in the late 50/early 60s.
Now really into (American) Native flute & other instruments and Celtic instrumental as well.
Some whimsical - They're coming to take me away (is it true?), Sneaky Snake ...
Right now i can't think of any Rap i like, but it's mostly (c)rap to me.
I can't stand Opera. Not the siging type (don't think due to language) or instrumental. Not into ballet, either...
While ive been "tied down" by a broken leg that wasn't healing, I got into watching West Coast Swing. WOW, what a different lot of songs !! Some I would never have heard or thought I might like. I wish id known the current WCS dancing when I was younger. I would have loved it.
I did not. THANX! I will check it out.I think we share a lot of music tastes.Have you ever heard of Hearts of Space? It’s a website with really good Celtic/ambient/new age music. Sometimes they even have a program with Native American flute.
