Sonofagun blasted PULLET

Agree. In fact, one of my GLWs is named Dinner because she's a bully and a brute. She hasn't lived up to her name yet, but there's still time.

I have one of those bratty ones....she went after another hen and made her bleed by the comb....she came at me and when I swatted she went at my dh, so I actually grabbed her and stuck her under my arm while I worked in the coop. she does not like my Dh and will fly at him every time or peck him, or climb on his back, they are all laying 21/21 almost every day, we think she just doesn't like her eggs being taken. If I collect the eggs by myself she is fine, she makes a vocal fuss and then goes back outside, but if its my Dh she will hang around and bawk away and chase him. he is trying to get his fear of chickens out of the way, but has told me that if she doesn't stop she will become roasted chicken :-/ I told him to grab her the way I do and carry her around to teach her who is boss but he is not ready for that yet!!

That is too funny. If I were him I wouldn't put up with it either. My DW is starting to like the chickens, so I have to be cautious if one comes after her. Two of our roos have been soup because they liked to chase her. I think they sensed her fear like dogs!

I've had several pullets like that. They almost always settled down when they started to lay. I think of them as hormonal teenaged girls - extremly moody little drama princesses.
I'll bet she settles in once she gets her hormones straightened out. At least, I hope she does - she's gorgeous.

None of mine have EVER done harm to me, other than occasional "Is that a bug attached to your skin?!" peck, that really hurts.

I do have a leader hen, Nugget, who keeps the other 4 in order. She can be really bossy and assertive, especially to my hen Meko who is at the lowest rank. She always makes time to treat her and the others, though. Any goodies she finds usually goes to the other. She will make a low druming sound, pick it up and drop it, until the others come. I would never eat something I raised as a pet, mean or not, but a meat flock would be a different story.

Phoebe is 110 percent diva lol! She always has that "What'chu lookin' at?" kinda look

She is really pretty too, and has finally stopped being a brat to the other hens. She probably came chicken kung foot at me because I was trying to pet her but I am definately catching her today and carrying her under my arm. FEEL THE HUMILITY GIRL! lol! Her "sister" Butternut is also B-E-A-oootiful. She is a splash blr wyandotte so she is red/white BUT her neck has Phoebe's color blue in it now AND two of her tail feathers are that DEEP rich blue that the true blr's have. It's so funny! Only two tailfeathers are blue though, the rest of her is white laced red hehe.

And I don't think I would eat her, mostly because I don't think it would give me much to work with LOL!! But also if she happens to not calm down I will give her to a friend that has roosters and hopefully that will help.

I am totally holding out for an egg though, like I said my Brahma turned TOTALLY friendly and wanting attention when she began laying so hopefully this IS a horomonal bratty teenage stage (no offense to teenagers lol!)

I wonder how chickens age...? Like how 1 human year is supposedly 7 or 10 years to a dog. I wonder how that works for chickens..?

Kalie ugh! I've been following Phoebe for so long and would hate to see her go! Give her till maturity. It really does suck, though. And if not then than never. My EVIL leghorn pullet only decided to squat at maturity, still a big brat head lol. And you did the quarantine thing they recommended on the other post? Well, I don't know what to say to you about her.
