Son's heart to heart with the roosters

My son was deep in conversation with the roosters yesterday. Usually it is about whether they are doing a good job watching over everyone - we've had lot's of predators around lately. The EE is Mr. Fuzzy Pants and the WCB is Al.

I love the pics. I think roosters add a lot to the chicken experience at least if they are not aggressive. There is a fresh thread going right now about how to raise nice roosters. It looks like yours got a lot of handling when young.

He just started fighting with my old man (almost 2 year old BO)...

I love it! When I was his age I'd snatch up a rooster who was stalking me and and kiss that thing all over. That fella has a nice head of hair, too!

I love having roosters. We have had our share!! We started with straight run and 9 roos. My son got to pick his favorite. I picked mine and we have one other, the rest had to go. They have all been handled since day one. My son carries them around and knows all the sounds they make and what they all mean.​
