Finding local shows in your area from arba.net is a great way to start. Just attending is free, and you can look around and see what is what and how things work. Ken and I spent two complete days at two shows before venturing forth with showing and it really helped us alot just to know what was going on. And we found that rabbit people, simply put, ROCK. So do the ARBA judges and the people from the different rabbit clubs. There are several source documents and articles that we have saved if you are interested. Rabbits have very delicate digestive systems, so the more knowledge you have the better off they will be.
And look out. Rabbits are more addicting than chickens, but much higher maintenance. We have 8 currently, and will not breed again until three more are sold. Overbreeding is also a problem with many breeders. We only breed a doe once every 9 months at the MOST.
