I dont know much about rocks, but I thimk there should be five points on the comb? Not positive on that, but if I'm correct then he has too many points.

Gorgeous boy either way Debi!

Not my breed, but the things I see are

as was said, too many points on his comb

nice crisp barring, but it is a bit wavier than I think is preferred

edited to finish post after my wrist accidentally hit enter while I was still writing

and I think his leg colour is not yellow enough--yellow and dark green feeds amy help with this.

Oh, and I think he looks far better than a hatchery bird, but depending on the show competition, he may or may not fare well.

As with most BR roosters, I think he's very handsome. However, he's a decent quality hatchery type BR, a little better than average. Comb is odd, barring not straight enough, but he may do okay at a local non-APA sanctioned show. You know that I love my BRs and none of mine is show quality, though once or twice, my Hawkeye did produce a much better than average son with really super nice barring that belied his parentage. Not every bird needs to be show quality, though I am looking to improve my BRs with an infusion from some show quality stock. Even if I don't ever want to show, and I don't, I love the look of a really great BR. I'll have to see if I can find a pic of Bob, once owned by FrontPorchIndiana, out of Hawkeye and Lexie (or maybe Amanda?).

Here he is, out of Hawkeye and Lexie (or maybe Amanda, not sure), two very average hatchery BRs. Wish I could replicate that boy! Can't believe he's the brother to Dutch and Mace and Zane. Not perfect, but to me, amazing considering his parentage. I love my BR roosters for many reasons, not just their looks.
