Just wanted to do a quick update!
In between getting this house clean for showing and starting to try to find moving boxes (when did they get SO hard to find?!?) I've been talking to the landlady and today we went and put the deposit on the farm today and it is officially ours!
She's going to have the storm doors hung, final painting done, new stove in, a celing fan put in the upstairs, and the floors sanded this week. AND we get our keys next week so we can start moving in with no extra rental charges!!!
I do have pics of the house, now I've just gotta figure out how to get them over from Facebook.
Congrats on getting your farm!! I am green w/envy. Even though I can have chickens in the development I live in, my dream is to live in an old farmhouse in the country.
I grew up practically living with my grandmother in the summers. She had a farm with cows, pigs, goats, chickens, cats. She's the reason I have chickens. My BO is named after her.
Good for you!!!
Jen
Edited to ask about your BYC name, baltimoreharps. Do you play a harp?
This place is my landlady's grandmother's farm and we intend to do the same thing that she did, raising livestock and having a huge garden!
As to my name, no, I don't play a harp, that was dh's email name for his favorite beer when we lived in Baltimore long ago...
We're thinking about naming it Nell's Belle Farm with a pic of a chicken wearing a southern belle dress as our official name after my Mom who passed away in 2009 and was a farmgirl herself most of her life. It's going to be an official working farm, Dh is getting the paperwork going now!
