Sooooo pretty...!

Yes that would be a bit of a problem. lol. Plus it takes alot of feed to feed ducks and chickens.......... Unless those ducks and chickens are bantams lol

You got that right! I take a trailer to buy my feed every month and the lady at the feed store always smiles when she sees me...then gets out two tickets.

Luckily, the chickens, ducks, and during breeding season the geese pay their own way. I sell eggs and take in enough each month to cover their feed and a couple bags of oats for the goats, cow, or horse. Their is such a demand for the duck eggs that I was able to expand my flock this year from 10 to 24.

They are so pretty!
What kind of chicken is in your pic, DuckGirl? I have a mutt that looks almost exactly like that and I've been trying to figure out what she could be. I know her dad is a Buff Orpington. She is one of my prettiest I have.

Ack.... I totally forgot about my own thread!

Shes a Blue Orpington pullet.... Shes the prettiest of my chicken flock.

Me too. We have 5 acre of land so we have plenty to have more ducks and chickens too, but they all want to hang out around the house, which makes it a bit messy if you don't watch where your stepping.

Ditto what is it with them, eh? ours all hang out in a specific area to despite having acres they can roam.

Quackrrs! I love that baby! Do you get to keep it?!

I think I may have to rename the thread "Silkie duck thread"

I'm still sad about your drake.

I'm hoping to keep it. Hubby's not impressed with the bantam duck attitude though. I've got one that is about five weeks old that I think is developing a quack. Both our bantam juvies are being really obnoxious right now, so I'm hoping it's a phase and they mellow out soon.

And I vote yes, rename it!
