I have a California White Rooster with a beautiful bright red comb. Recently I noticed a sore on it. I dont have the ability to post a photo at this time, so I am hoping to describe it well enough that someone might be able to help me. The sore is a bit larger than a pencil eraser. It is not raised at all. In fact, it reminds me of a cold sore that a person would get inside his/her mouth. It is dented inward. It is dark red to brown in color. Roosty allows me to touch his comb and look at the sore without fussing at all. It does not seem to be causing him any discomfort at all. It is not oozing or bleeding. It is rather dry. None of the 21 hens has anything that resembles it. I noticed a smaller one is starting on the other side tonight. I hope someone can understand what I am describing and give me some advice. Anything would greatly be appreciated. I have had Roosty since he was 2 days old! I am rather attached. Thanks in advance!
