Sorry..another rooster question :(

HCCHICK Do not wait until you find someone, he will not wait for you. He will attack small children first, then women, and eventually even men. Most people underestimate the violence of a rooster attack if they have never seen one. Scars on that little girl would be terrible, and she will not love the chickens afterwards. This is a wonderful hobby to share with grandchildren, but do not let a rooster ruin it for you, and you are very close to that happening. Do something NOW.

He is gone! Unfortunately he attacked my 1yr old granddaughter we missed him, (she was not hurt thank god!) he was hiding somewhere and she was playing in the dirt, he came out of nowhere. Everyone was over at this time. Now the other two cockreals i have havent done anything first sign of anything they will be gone immediately!!!

My cockerels are also gone. I tried very much to re-home them but I had no choice but to cull and it was hard. I have felt bad since. BUT....I felt I had to do it for my pullets. The main one was forcing my pullets, especially my smallest one. She was starting to look bare on the back. As well as crowing at me, fluffing up and he was getting more and more forceful with me, not backing down when I tried to move him out of the way. The nondominant one was tidbiting everything else and then attacking it when it would not respond including my cat and the baby chicks I have right now. And they where starting to fight each other. When it went for my cat, she is older, and the baby chick by penning up the mother hen and chicks in the coop, I was done. I just don't think as some have said that they are worth it in a contained environment. I felt if it would go after the babies and the cat, as it grew it would just move on to my son who is 11 (already moving in his direction fluffing and flapping). There are many opinions on this subject but just to add this, when younger, I hand feed the boys. They would not allow the pullets to eat outta of my hand but ran them off and when I would put the food on the ground, they seemed to become disinterested so I stopped feeding them by hand as soon as I saw this behavior. As soon as I can hopefully guess what my chicks are, I will not have anything to do with the boys. It will just make it easier for me to re-home them hopefully.

Sounds like good riddance. My sympathies to your granddaughter. I hope she wasn't permanently put off chickens?
My neighbor got rid of all her hens as well as the rooster after such an incident and the kids miss the birds. But her daughter panicked and decided as long as grandma had chickens the kids couldn't go visit.
