WOW!!!

I have read all the posts and understand that everyone is shocked and mad, but seriously, these people really need our prayers now. There are some serious problems there.

I never posted, but kept updated daily on what was going on and how the babies were doing. I am pregnant now and would sit here, rubbing my belly and crying and praying for this family. My hubby also got caught up in all the drama.

Me too, but I called him in and asked him to read...he was speechless. We just can;t believe it, he was ready to send out money or anything "they "would need that would help...

Being lied to just stinks, especially to this extent!

I have not told my DH, I am embarrassed as well and probably couldn't get through it without crying so it will have to wait till tomorrow at the earliest, unless he asks me about them. I defintely will not tell my son because I'm always preaching about such things as "not believing everything you read on the internet".

You are a very kind and caring person. You however are not stupid. Many were tricked and I would have been as well had I read some of the posts. I wish I knew some words to help with the pain that this person brought on you. I know it will just take time. Just keep in mind most of us are real and we do care.

For all of us who feel duped, stupid, gullible, foolish, angry, cynical, humiliated, embarrassed, etc... those are honest emotions. Don't be (and yes, I AM talking to myself here as well...) swallowed up by those emotions to the point where it all becomes about the event and our responses to it. Everyone who prayed for, encouraged, supported, and tried to uplift this *family* has no reason to be ashamed. What has happened is that a crisis *albeit fabricated* has caused people to consider someone other than themselves, and to band together on behalf of another. Hold your (our) heads up high, give thanks to God for His goodness, and don't let a scam ever, EVER keep us from reaching out a hand to someone in need. (although it is apparent that we all need to do our due diligence in determining whether that need is legitimate.

) Thank you, moderators and Nifty, for bringing this scam to light, and thank you, EACH AND EVERY BYCer who has ever spoken a kind word, encouragement, advice, shared your experience, spoke in chat, exchanged recipes, PMs, joys and sorrows, etc. with me.

I too sent my prayers and thoughts to 'Jenn' for all her troubles.

Please keep in mind that this is not the first untruthful life story we have been told on BYC nor will it be the last. Sadly over the internet some folks find the anonymity too tempting. As stated already the forum rules are there for a reason, please just respect them.

Don't beat yourself up for caring, but do be careful in what you give beyond good thoughts and prayer.
