Sorry, I just gotta vent! Building frustration thread.

I buried 5 foot 1" hex wire 12" below ground and dug a trench 1 foot deep for the wire, 2 feet deep for the post. I then coated it with 48" high chicken wire (more for the chickens than predators). I also heard this prevents coons from "grabbing" your poultry thru the 1" holes of the hex. I placed chicken wire on the top of my run and secured it into place to prevent birds of prey. If your going to enter the coop directly from the outside, like mine, then you should build a swing door to prevent birds from just walking out! Just some ideas. :)
 
Great job on the coop! It's going to mean a lot more to you now that you can look at it and know it was your blood, sweat and tears that went into it. Bet you learned a few things too. That knowledge is something no one can take away from you and will help you out in your next project!
 
@MrSelfDestruct Haaa! I've got the building bug. Next project is my duck house and currently I am building another coop at my brother in-laws this weekend! It's crazy the things you think to build next when you actually become confident! Thanks all!
