I've been using the wood shavings to cover it as best I can but I wanted to get rid the plastic stuff as it freying was driving me nuts and it made cleaning the poop out of the shavings a pain. You want to put in a thick layer of dry organic material and then improve your ventilation so that it stays dry and thus dehydrates the poop rapidly.
If you can't add lots of bedding and more ventilation then you're going to have to clean more often.
Should I just put the chicken feed bags on the bottom for now? I was going to duck tape them together and make sure they are pretty high up against the wall to protect from duck poop.
