I am having a similar issue with one of my birds! She is a muscovy and was having issues standing on her feet a few months ago. I assumed it was niacin issue and ran out and got some niacin supplements to feed her immediately and then ordered some Rooster Booster that I have added to their feed. I am also feeding the the Kalmbach Duck and goose feed.


They have been on the rooster booster for a month now and the one bird has stopped standing over the last week and now a new bird is limping.
I got them sav-a-life (bird Gatorade), brewers yeast, epsom salt, grit and more rooster booster. They ate a bunch of the grit immediately so maybe it is calcium related?

Could these issues be related to being on the Kalmbach feed?

Well, that is a theory! I would hate for that to be the case.

What is a better feed than Kalmbach? I've heard it's a good feed.

I also supplement oyster shells

I know last year people were having problems with Purina feed and their birds. Hens not laying etc.

IDK how to get rid of the replies. But there was one time I switched to Dumor because I ran out and that's all I could find local and everyone stopped laying the next week. So don't use Dumor

The "grit" I buy for them is made from clam shells, calcium carbonate (chalk), and anise seed. I give it to them separately from their food!
 
I have no idea I just know I read last year people were having problems when feeding Purina. I try to eat NON GMO or organic and I eat my birds eggs so I have to feed my flock the same as I eat.
I guess the only way to know for sure is to try a different brand of feed and see how your flock does on it.
Niacin deficiency can hit even adult birds but mainly we see it in young ones. Maybe their bodies just don't assimilate the niacin as well as their siblings I am not sure anyone knows why one is more susceptible than another from the same hatch or from a hatchery. But from a hatchery they are popping them out by the thousands no wonder but it's up to us once we get them to make sure they get the extra niacin they need to have strong legs.

I think it's a good guess. I emailed Kalmbach. I'll let you know if and when they respond.

This is my third year of ducks, we switched from Purina to Kalmbach because I use Kalmbach for my rabbits and was impressed with the quality and it's delivered by Chewy-convenience factor.

I eat and sell my eggs so I want GMO free. I wish I could afford better but we also pasture raised them. We also process ours.

I've never had angel wing nor niacin deficiency before.

I used a new breeder this year. My first round was from a local backyard mix, the second round was from tractor supply, and this one I ordered from Murray McMurray.
