Yeah, I'm sure fresh is better. I was just thinking in case she doesn't live near trees or isn't confident in identifying it.Yep, but made fresh is more potent and the window... see above. Most of us live in the country or suburbs, plenty of trees.
While Calcium plays a role in making hard shells, the purpose for extra/quickly absorbed calcium supplement given to a hen with a prolapse if for oviduct contractions and retention.I'm not sure this is Calcium related. She had laid a good egg already today around 1pm. She was bathed and basically shot out the shell-less egg while soaking (around 7:30pm). So I think it just wasn't done developing and would have been laid normal tomorrow?
It does seem like there have been a lot of prolapse threads lately.I wouldn't order it, the cockatiel (or something like that) who was treated with it took some time to recover. That's why I was skeptical. Going for a walk, the branch of a tree with some dry leaves still clinging to it came into my line of vision. WAIT A MINUTE WAIT A MINUTE !!!! Which trees are known to stubbornly keep a few leaves until spring? The oaks, of course. And, the bark of this particular tree was a whitish grey, distinctly lighter than the trees surrounding it.
In the summer, it's easy to identify, just look it up on wikipedia.
I saw major improvement after 12 hrs (normal poops) and full recovery after another 24hrs.
So just taken from the tree is best, but remember just take a little bit, the tree needs it too.
I'll write an article or make a thread with all the details . This is how I should've started, but I keep seeing all these emergencies all these poor hens.
Great Idea! Write an article.I'll write an article or make a thread with all the details .
