My sister's stupid terrier that I'm dog sitting bit one of my chicken. Took a chunk of feathers off along with a piece of skin. Chicken bleeding but is still running around. What do I do?

You should probably clean the wound with a little diluted betadine. You also want to keep her away from the other chickens for a little while because if they notice the wound, they'll probably peck at it causing more problems. If you have any neosporin, you can put that on her as well. Just don't use anything with pain killers in it, or anything that ends with "caine" Good luck!

Thanks for the info. My poor chicken is so use to walking up to my dogs she didn't realize that not all dogs will let them do that. All it took is 1 sec for the dog to rip into her(and the dog was on leash too).

The wound looks nasty since the skin ripped right around her crop. But she doesn't seem to care. She is eating and running around. And if the feather doesn't grows back, I will have to pass her off as a turken.
