Soundproofing a henhouse

There is no way to keep chickens quiet that are being noisy!! Some chicken breeds are quieter than others. Apparently the chickens you have are noisy. There is no way of knowing which chickens will be quiet and which ones will not!
Bottom line is if you are allowed to keep chickens where you live; no worries!!! If not then you are at the mercy of your neighbors!!

Sorry but there isn't likely a way to build a sound proof coop that is going to hide noisy chickens and still provide them with a cool/ventilated coop to live in, you could insulate the heck out of the coop and close up all ventilation but that is not good for the chickens and you would really have to insulate well to quite a noisy flock of chickens it doesn't matter if they are hens or roosters or both. I find it rather ignorant of any government body to have ordinances against chickens, these rules are born of ignorance and a sense of elitism and as far as I am concerned are threatening to the very freedom Americans are SUPPOSED to enjoy, however the law is the law and if you are going to choose to violate the law then you have to deal with the consequences. I personally would move to a place where you can have them or see what you can do about getting the law changed, talk to people, write articles, whatever it takes.
