Sour crop (again!) any advice for recurring ailment?

There are SO many experts on here that's incredible the amount of knowledge and helpfulness they provide everyday!
We are Extremely lucky to have all of them.
Of course I read their comments and follow them.
I should probably spend more time looking at chicken threads… I’ve seen a few and some members helping, but I could only remember one off the top of my head O...o

Here is a thread I made showing how to make a crop bra that will stay on. It does require basic sewing skills. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/making-a-crop-bra-for-a-hen-with-pendulous-crop.1464848/

In the thread is a link to my article on crop disorders.

Is she pooping normally? If not, sometimes with chronic sour crop, there is a blockage farther down that might require flushing. This could be slowing the crop. Something to consider if all else fails. It's a saline flush and it takes three days. It's intense, but hens I've given it to were energized by it.

An easy way to give the miconazole is to squirt a mouthful into the beak right from the tube. Precise dosage isn't necessary. Enough to fill the mouth as you would squirting whipped cream, is enough to get the job done. It must be given two times a day at least, and for seven full days.

thanks everyone! @azygous that is what I'm hoping to do this time but I swear she sees it coming and closes her beak so tight! is there a trick to gently prying it open without hurting her? she's a sweetheart and very cuddly so I dont want to scar her through all this. last time she ate it mixed with yoghurt but won't do that anymore. and @Eggcessive yes very young for these issues, which is why I worry it might be genetic/chromic. I do sort of remember her adjusting her crop a lot more than the others when she was a tiny chick.

anyone have a good way to build crop support from 3" vet wrap? I have a lot of that to use (I can't get to my sewing machine because of where I'm isolating currently)

To pry open a beak, get the chicken in an arm lock. Then grasp the head with one hand while slipping a finger nail into the beak crack and work the beak open, then hold it open with the other hand while you squirt the cream into the beak.

This doesn't make anyone happy, but with practice you can do it quickly and it only involves a second of irritation on the chicken's part.

In my crop article, there is a simple instruction how to fashion a bra with vet wrap, a scrap of material and glue.

thank you! I will try these and I'll take a look at your article.

This is her poop I just saw her take. Look ok? Here is a photo of her today. You can see how massive her crop is :( she’s eating and drinking normally and I was able to get her cream in her today (and will do again later) but man this crop is like making her very unbalanced. My poor sweet bird :( hope she is okay in a few days with treatment.
