Please help if you can. I have 2 VERY sick girls, I can only imagine this is sour crop. Balloon like crops, putrid smelling discharge from the mouth. There is a lot of advice online for how to treat this, and I have also searched the threads and found some advice. Some conflicting.
If anyone has had experience with clearing up sour crop please advise. And if there are ideas about how to prevent the rest of flock from illness we would gladly accept that too!
Symptoms:
very blue combs
lethargic (sleeping while standing).
foul smelling discharge
distended squishy crop.
They are pooping, not diarrhea.
Here's what we've done:
We have massaged the crops and they have vomited (that was traumatizing) and will continue to do so.
Currently using syringe with water and ACV a couple times a day to clear crop.
1/2 inch of miconazole 3 2 times a day.
They are sequestered from the rest of the flock and I've made them as comfy as possible. Our vet isn't seeing chickens now due to Avian flu.
