We have a 5 month old black Australorp who I think may have sour crop. Up until today she was acting fine. This evening when I let the girls out for their evening free range time, I picked up the Australorp to say hello and clear fluid came out of her mouth. I watched her for awhile while she was out and she wasn’t as active as she normally is, not much scratching/pecking, standing still a lot with her tail sort of down. My daughter went to pick her up to bring her in so we can isolate her from the rest of the girls and a little more clear fluid came out of her mouth. Her crop is full but soft, the fluid didn’t smell bad. I thought we would separate her this evening and check her crop again in the morning to see if it’s still full. My daughter went to check on her a little bit ago and she’s breathing a little hard. Could she have aspirated when the fluid came out of her mouth or is she maybe just stressed to be away from the other birds? Is there anything else we can do for her?
