Sour crop or impacted crop?

Just picked up this pullet, her chest is huge and she was lethargic earlier. It feels soft not really hard and is distended. Her bone structure has a hard bone on her chest and stomach that I’m not use to seeing so I’m wondering if she is supposed to have her chest like this or if it’s something like sour crop or impacted crop. Helppp

Any other issues, vision problems, irregular pupils, leg weakness or just seems like she's got an upset tummy with a mushy feeling crop?

An impacted crop is usually hard, so I'm guessing sour crop. The bone is normal. How long has her crop been full? Has it emptied at all, or has she pooped at all? Is there a sour smell coming from her mouth? For now isolate her from the other birds to lower her stress. If you really think it's sour crop, then massage her crop, and don't feed her anything for a day to see if it will empty a bit on its own. Do you give your hens grit? Sour crop is much better when it's prevented from happening in the first place. Giver her plenty of electrolyte water to try and flush some of that gunk out. Try to make her vomit by massaging her crop and tilting her head towards the floor (not upside down or she'll aspirate, just pretend she's a cup and you're gently spilling the water out of her mouth). Watch some videos on how to do this correctly so you don't hurt her. Give her breaks to breathe, too. You can try to get her to eat a little bit of coconut oil or apple cider vinegar so things move along more easily in her crop. The best thing to do though, of course, is bring her to a vet if you can. Sour crop can be hard to treat on your own.

You just picked her up as in she's "new to you" ? I'm going to assume yes. Was she actually lethargic or just scared to death by being moved to a new home?

Check her crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink - AFTER a full night's sleep. See if the crop is empty.

Put her on puppy pads overnight so she doesn't eat any bedding during the night so you can accurately gauge function.

And if she is new to you - it's a good idea to keep her quarantined away from your flock for at least 2 weeks so you can observe for illness.
