Hey everyone! So I am trying to figure out if my chicken has sour crop or if something else is going on. It's been about a week now. She seemed perfectly fine one day, and acting sickly the next. As soon as I noticed her acting "off" I picked her up and she felt very skinny. Her crop was full at the time but it was evening. Next morning, her crop was still big and felt mushy. So I am leaning towards sour crop. However, I do not smell anything coming from her beak. I would think that after a week, the smell would be really bad. I know there are a lot of negative things out there about regurgitating, but I got desperate and tried. I have watched videos and read articles on how to do this, but nothing comes out. I have tried a few times. When I massage her crop I can hear sounds, like mushy or even gas like noises. So is this sour crop? I really didn't expect her to live this long if that is the case. I have tried putting apple cider vinegar in her water, garlic, yogurt, probiotocs. Nothing seems to really be making a difference. Maybe I haven't tried these remedies long enough? Or is it because this is something else entirely? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I do not want her to suffer, but I hate to cull if it is something I can fix. Thanks in advance!
