I wonder if this has anything to do with her state. The lumps disappeared a week or so later.

Sadly, she died today. Around three days ago, she seemed to get worse. I just made her comfortable for the next two days, and put her to sleep today. It was beyond what I could do and she lived a long and happy life. I just hate these long, terminal illnesses, just make me feel helpless.Thank you for your help- especially with the DE info.

I am sorry for your loss. You did the best for her, so that she doesn’t suffer. If you still have her body, I would keep it cold and wrapped in plastic bags in a cooler on ice. That way, you could get a necropsy by your state vet or neighboring state vet. That could look for a cause of death, and also could confirm MS in her leg joints. Here is a list of state vets:
