I have a year old Minorca hen who has sour crop, we have been treating with nystatin for 7 days now with little improvement. Her crop seems to hang very low and isn’t emptying. We emptied it just now and it seems like it is worse than when we first started treating her. She weighs next to nothing and I’m not sure what else to do for her. Any help/advice is appreciate.

Pendulous crop is the reason for a lot of cases of sour crop. The contents in a pendulous crop hang too low for the crop to ever completely empty, so the contents sit there fermenting.

It's also a reason why a hen can starve while having a full crop and always be eating. Most of what she consumes ends up in that lower portion of the crop that can't find its way into her intestines to absorb nutrients and calories. It's also the reason why the Nystatin hasn't cleared up the yeast. The crop needs to be able to completely empty each night.

I discuss crop bras in this article. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

The crop bra pattern I show is merely to give you a general idea of what a bra looks like. The bra sling may end up needing to be larger or smaller according to the shape and size of your hen. The straps you make might be from sturdier material and involve Velcro for a more secure fit.
