Can you give some undiluted Corid extra—0.1 ml per pound of weight twice a day for a few days, in addition to the medicated Corid water.

Barred Rocks are a bit heavy. An average hen probably weighs about 5 pounds, but a BR is pribably more like 7 pounds. If you have a human scale, you can weigh yourself while holding her, then weigh yourself alone, and subtact the difference.

Just to be cautious, I dosed her as though she weighs 6 lbs, as she's probably not quite full grown yet and I don't have a human scale to check that. She definitely did not like having her beak held open to get medicine lol, but swallowed with no problems. I think I forgot to mention also that I had been giving her veggie oil to try and help her in case she had an impacted crop. Do you think that is okay to continue since I am not sure if it is coccidiosis? The main thing that makes me worry about impacted crop is the combo slow crop and undigested grass.

Well, she made it to the morning and seems a bit perkier. She's happily eating her egg with some layer crumbles mixed in. She is lively enough to try to scratch at her bowl, but keeps knocking it over lol. We gave her the second dose of Corid. Starting to think that it was in fact coccidiosis, but will update later if anything changes. Another chicken spit up on me when I touched it. Not sure what that was about, but they have medicine in their water and none of them are acting ill so hopefully that will resolve itself.

Chickens may regurgitate if you handle them and accidentlly squeeze the crop. Not sure if that is why the chicken spit up or not. It is common for chickens with coccidiosis to have a slow crop. If you need to give an oil, instead of giving it orally, give it in a small amount of food, or give chilled coconut oil, cut into small pieces they will peck. Oil can choke them easily if you try and get them to swallow, so best for them to take it on their own.

This morning her crop is finally empty. She is eating layer crumbles mixed with an egg and a little bit of water with nutridrench in it. She has not stood up at all this morning, whereas before she was mostly standing and not laying down. Hopefully this is not a bad sign. She did actually eat a few bits of layer crumble completely dry and got excited over a stringy bit off egg goop so I think her appetite is coming back. Her breathing seems a little labored. For now I will just keep dosing her with the corid as prescribed 2x a day and in her water. Not sure if there is much else to do, or if breathing is typically affected by coccidiosis.

Does she have any swelling or enlargement of her belly between her legs? That can be a sign of ascites (water belly) or egg yolk peritonitis.

Would it be very obvious? Her belly feels about the same as how the other chickens feel. She finally stood up, and even took a minute to preen herself too. Maybe she was just feeling a bit lazy earlier?

Today and yesterday she has been losing her appetite a bit. Her crop is nowhere near as full as it was when she first got sick. Water does seem to drain from her crop every day and there are no hard lumps or anything that I can feel. She doesn't seem very interested in food, but she won't stop drinking water. We are hesitant to let her drink her fill because it seems really excessive for a chicken. She will drink for several minutes straight, or longer if we let her. If we let her outside, she mostly stands and sleeps, but will wander sometimes, especially if she can see her water cup. She has crossed the entire garden at grandma speed just to get more water. She also hasn't really passed any solid poops despite having eaten a good amount of food a few days ago, plus a bit more yesterday. Her poop is super runny, and sometimes has those tiny green logs in it like you see from chickens that aren't eating. Her tail is almost always down and she often doesn't even hold her wings up. Not sure what else to do for her. Does this seem like coccidiosis?
