Sour Crop?

The crop is not empty in the morning, it has the doughy lump all the time. I'll go ahead and treat her with the copper sulphate when I get it. How long does this treatment usually take to show signs of improvement? Thanks for the response btw.
If this hen with the "doughy" crop is behaving normally, it may be a normal crop. To be certain you are dealing with a legitimate crop issue, monitor the crop in question for a 24 hour period. The crop should be completely empty in the morning before the chicken eats. If the doughy lump is still there in the morning, then you have the option of treating it with copper sulfate or miconazole.

Treatment for yeast infections depend on the individual. Often, yeast infections are a secondary condition to a more central health issue where the immune system may be compromised. Therefore, depending on the overall health of the chicken, they could respond very quickly to treatment and start to feel better in under 48 hours, or they could take much longer. And in some cases, they might not respond to treatment or make a recovery only to develop sour crop again immediately.

Wow. Good thing I had knee surgery this week or I would never have the time for all of this. I’ll do it now. Thanks
I wanted to update you. After a week of oil, massaging, stool softener and more massaging, not sure what else to do. She is still having a hard time breathing which is probably a result from her throwing up. She is going to the bathroom, but very little. Her crop went down a little the other day after days of not eating. She readily took food, moistened pellets, yesterday with a dropper. Followed by more massaging. She is week, thin, having problems breathing, full crop. I will give her a little more oil later as I have not done that in 3 days, then I think its best to leave her be at this point. Hate to see her go especially because now I see how hard it is to incorporate a new one into the flock but I think its enough. Thank you for all your help. I learned a tn from all of this.
