Hello, I’m baffled by my barred rock. She has been having runny poi for about three weeks. I gave her some yogurt and she started pooping normal for about three days. The runny poop started again. Yesterday, i found her in the nesting box in the morning. She normally roosts at the highest point. I picked her up and her cone was a little purple. She didn’t fight me which isn’t normal. I checked her out and her crop is definitely squishy. But the last time i tried to get a hen to vomit she died. So i don’t dare. I took her inside and gave her water with electrolytes. Also i have given her two doses of miconazole. Her comb has improved she is drinking but not eating much. I’m worried about the green stuff in her poop. Could she have worms? Or an impact ion further down? She is not eggbound. She hasn’t layed since she started to molt in Jan.

I found a pigeon that couldn't walk or fly last fall. The poop was neon green and very runny. Initially, I suspected Marek's but then was told it could also be the result of not eating right due to brain trauma. I kept it in a bird cage on my porch. The first couple of days, it couldn't even eat...it's movement was so off and erratic that when it tried to peck at food, it totally missed or fell over. I made a mash of my chicken food in the blender with fruit, yogurt, remineralized water, and alternated with adding oregano EO, and GSE extract. Also, I added ACV to the water. Had no clue if those would help but it either had Mareks or was hit by a car so I figured it was worth a shot. Last year, we lost 4 birds to Coccidiosis within 48 hours. I could only order the Corid so I needed to improvise while I waited for it to arrive via Amazon prime. Added the Oregano EO to some waterers and the GSE extract to others. All had ACV and garlic. In the end, we never needed the corid though I keep it on hand just in case. That said, the pigeon's poop started to solidify after a few days on the mash I was making and by the third day, was able to control it's movement enough that it was able to eat seeds and such on it's own. After a week, it was attempting to move about and fly so I brought it to a rehabilitator. I called 2 weeks later and was told it had made a full recovery and been released. I'll never know what that bird had but yogurt has helped my roo when he has sour crop and the yogurt with the Oregano EO and GSE helped my pigeon. Hoping others can give you a better idea of what you're dealing with and how to treat but if not, perhaps if you can get your hands on the Oregano EO and GSE, it's worth a shot. Colloidal silver could also be beneficial inbetween....I have not used it on my chickens yet but it helped eliminate ringworm on a cat when I added it to it's water bowl and rubbed it on rash :D

Does she/ her crop smell funny? because this would indicate that she has sour crop, if so try giving her apple cider vinegar (watered down) and my hens usually have squishy crops I think it might be the food i'm feeding them.
