Sour crop

I think my hen has sour crop. I have nystatin cream on hand . Anyone know how to dose? I didn’t want to make her regurgitate, but tonight her crop was so full she was starting to head Bob. I took her outside and barely tipped her, and she started pouring out foul smelling liquid. I did that several times, it came down nicely. I did give her about 0.5 ML’s of the cream. Wondering if I should mix it with food? It was not easy to try to get her to do it and I was doing it by myself. I don’t have any vet in my area that will look at chickens, so I am on my own.

Poor girl. You could use a syringe to draw up the cream and then inject it into a small piece of bread. She’ll probably down the bread in one and not realise there is cream in it.

Make sure you treat twice daily for a full week.
