Sour crop

just took the bra off and checked crop really well and i can feel loads of ,stuff' in there!!! def some feathers but also small bits of ?? guessing stoneswood idk! shes not acting so bright now shes still eating ect but sitting around alot! has done a couple clear watery poops some were a little bubbley looking heard this could be organ failure or not enough nutrition! shes back to vet monday. i cant empty her crop it just wont empty and there feels like loads of stuff in there which could likely choke her if they did come up! her situation is looking pretty hopeless . she either brought this stuff up or more likely continues to eat feathers and bits of wood from the run!ive cleared it out as much as i can and continue to check daily and remove bits that dislodge as the ground drys out but they are ouside!there will always be bits! think mondays her last chance really cos if a second procedure dosnt work i cant watch her get worse and worse til she dies! dont know what more can be done :(

Shell, how frustrating you must feel, it's been hard for both of you. You have done your best. It's a hard battle to fight.

So sorry shell that bombie is not doing well today. I so wish it were a different scenario for you. You have done loads for this bird and for that you should take heart. I can see what a nasty nasty diagnosis this is. I would I guess empty what little you can get bra on and maybe neutralize any small amount of sourness right away with baking soda solution until Monday rolls around. Poor bird poor you. :hugs

thanks pwand xxx i am very frustrated but im not giving up. while the vet thinks he can fix her ill just keep taking her back. mon i expect a second endoscopy plus xrays. maybe we may get a clearer idea what we are dealing with after xray. my husbands said "it cost what it costs" his way of saying he loves her more than money. god i love that man!
so nothing stopping me from telling the vet to do whatever he can.
yesterday she was so happy outside digging in the dust bath and laying in the sun. it made me smile so much. there must be hope for my dear little baby. shes such a fighter . if any chicken can get through this i believe its her xxx

Shell by looks of pwands blocked gizzard link xrays aren't always diagnostic because of grit shadowing the picture. Seems I would just save money on those.

This is just me but I would move on to crop surgery to remove block. And if not there then get right to gizzard. Its risky but right now she seems vital and down the road she might not be as strong to survive it.

But then you need to decide if this is something financially worth the risk to and your overall faith on whether this is right for bombie too. Lots to weigh but again these are only my opinions.

i know what you mean and they vet said the same thing but say there was something metal in there. a scew or stapple or something. think id just want to rule it out.
will see what mark (vet) says on monday and go from there.
she is eating liquid food with added supplements casportpony but think the crop is filling up with bits of c**p again so its not passing through very quickly :(
