Sour crop?????

What does it mean when my 2 month old chick keeps stretching her neck and gulping? Seems her crop is empty like shes not eating too.

Usually it means you have a perfectly normal chick as this is a behavior that all chicks do.

If your chick is not eating that is sign of stress or sickness and should not go untreated. Be watchful and make sure she eats.

Well I`m concerned as shes lax acting and her crop would be full after foraging all day. Also, I held her and massaged her chest area which felt deflated and she cryed out when I touched a certain area to the right of her breastbone. Concerned.

We'll maybe she has an injury. Keep watching her so if she shows herself to be lethargic you can be on top of it to help her. If she is eating before roosting at night that is a good sign she is ok.

She is lethatgic. I am on top of it now, shes a lttle gaspy too. Oye! Chickens. Just pooped a clearish liquid with a bit of white. Not great. Sent hubs for some yogert. Time will tell. Thanks for the help.

Sweetpea is better! Musta been something caught and I worked er loose. TG! Getting a firstaid kit made up though, antibiotics, wormers,neosporin and bluecote. Any other suggestions?
