sour oats question

I have started a small batch of soured oats today as an experiment to see if my chickies will like it....do I need to have it in an airtight container or does it need to breath?

I would not place them in an airtight container, as some pressure could build up. Let them breathe. BTW, I would avoid sticking your hands in the liquid....it will take days for you to get the smell off of your hands.
