Source for US made dried mealworms?

Cluckin' Good Grubs are grown and processed in the Northwestern part of the United States. I bought some for my girls and they loved them. They are a bit expensive but I feel it's worth it for quality treats. They also have herbs and food; organic and non-gmo.

So many feathers! I've been reading all these posts about how to help with molting and egg production and they are all pretty much saying the same thing, calcium and protein. Which brings me back to my second chicken related obsession, chicken being number one of course, Tasty Grubs! I adore this product it's made in the USA. I also really like the company, Tasty Worms Nutrition.

I started with two chickens in 2013 and we now have over 30! Yeah, I've earned the name of crazy chicken lady! But, we have also turned it into a small fresh egg business. So, I just cannot, in good conscious, feed them China dried mealworms. The Tasty Grubs are GMO free and have calcium and protein in them.

The company is also a small family business and they own a wildlife rehabilitation organization for Bats too! The fact that they are a small business and not a huge corporation is a big selling point for me. They have been very open and honest about their products when I called them and even gave us some samples to give to new chick owners.

I feel like I should work there! LOL

So, I was curious about the difference between Tasty Worms - Tasty Grubs (dried black fly larva) and Scratch and Pecks- Cluckin Good Grubs (also, dried black fly larva). I made some calls and did some research.

Both great products! The biggest difference is that Scratch and Pecks - Cluckin Good Grubs come from Canada. Not the USA. They market them as coming from the "pacific northwest" but the company they get them from manufactures them in Canada (the pacific northwest region). Not a deal breaker, I like Canada.

Tasty Worms, Tasty Grubs are from the midwest. And 100% USA made. I like the fact that they are a small American business and not a corporation.

Like with many human and pet food and personal products, if they don't specifically say manufactured or grown in the USA, I assume China. They have had too many issues there (and exported) with safety, corner cutting, haz mats, chems, etc. for me to feel comfortable buying anything in those categories.

What is the problem with ones from China? I feed dried mealworms and never noticed where they're from so now I'm concerned. If they're USDA approved I thought they were OK.

Do the opposite of what the USDA or ANY government recommended entity advises!
