South Carolina

I am in Timmonsville. Just right outside of Florence. I am new. I have 4 silver laced wyandotte hens and 15 eggs in the incubator. I would love some chicken buddies close by.
I'm sure you'll be able to find someone on here closeby!

Congrats on the eggs!!

Thanks! Oh, wanted to tell you about Rumor the gold laced cochin rooster. I don't know if you remember when you brought the gold laced to me, but the smallest one was the roo. We ended up naming him Rumor, because he was not only the smallest, but also far from the prettiest one in the bunch. So the rumor was he would end up being gorgeous when he was grown. Now that he has gone through his ugly duckling phase, that "Rumor" has proven to be quite true and he is gorgeous. Not only does he know his name and will come running when called, he is also DH's new favorite, which I am quite pleased with since DH has had little to do with the chickens since the death of Big Daddy last summer. All the golden laced have grown a little, but still are on the small side. I have been talking with some breeders about working on the size issue. Maybe I will be able to find some very nice gold laced wyandottes to add in the mix this spring. I will try and get a picture of Rumor if I can get him to hold still long enough and send to you :)
