I just opened my last jar of honey, Mary. I can't believe it lasted this long! But so many folks gave me jars of their homemade jams last fall that I was able to stretch it out. But this last jar will go quickly so keep me in mind for some of your wonderful honey again. Either creamed or not, I love your honey. Your bees are so busy and real sweeties!

If I ever get down your way I would love to take a lavender roo off your hands. My Sizzle pen could use other colors. I am not big on breeding Silkies though I love my 2 small pens but I do love Sizzles and Frizzles in all those amazing colors.

I am starting to really

the Sizzle's and Frizzles!!!!... I might in the future would love to get one for the d'Uccles Coop just for fun!! I also want another polish...I still miss PumPum!!!! or maybe just one sizzle/frizzle polish!!! FunFun!!!

I remembered to check on the guinea meat today when I went to Live Oaks, they had several in their freezer. They are selling for $6 per pound. Just to let you all know. It didn't really look very appealing to me. I looked at that little carcass and saw A GUINEA BIRD!!!

I do love my guineas but I'd rather have them eating my bugs than me eating them.

I hate that I sold my amazing Marvin, Frizzle roo. He was just superb but I hope to have a son of his growing up. So far all I see are girls though.

I have 18 eggs in the hatcher now waiting for the chicks to emerge from my 2 Sizzle pens. I want to see more from Tawny as he is really nice and I have turned down some good money for him. But he is the only light colored Sizzle roo I kept as the others were all bought up quickly. I figured I better set some and see about a back up and have enough to sell this spring.
You know you can always look and see what I have available when you are ready.
Remember I have more MF d'Uccle chicks growing up, too!

Talk about eating high on the hog! Er, Guinea....well, I know that people do eat the Guineas but we only plan to eat them like we do our extra roosters. If we have them then they will feed us. Thankfully, our freezer is usually full of meat but we still don;t care to have to take out any Guineas. They sold so well that I am not sure we will ever have to.

I am really having a hard time selling the light buff guineas down here. I am thinking of eating them so I do not have to feed them. We have enough of the other colors for the property we have and I know when DH gets done with that porch and I turn these guys back out at least half are going to go perch on the rail and cause him fits. It might help some if he thinks I am down sizing!

Oh, I was doing the happy dance yesterday! One of my BC Marans laid her first egg! Not as dark as I would have liked but it is still pretty! My one Gold Laced Cochin pullet I kept this season also laid her first egg yesterday. I know this because she keeps crawling under the wire into the guinea pen and she is the only hen in there.
