I'm hatching the normal stuff... silkies, ameraucanas and marans. But my incubator is looking a little empty right now thanks to a lack of eggs. Come on, girls!

I haven't had any problems with th jumping pages in Firefox, but I have read on here that the forum does really well with Chrome. My pages loaded a little slower the first day or so, but I haven't really noticed it since then. Now that I have written that, they will probably start taking forever to load!
Alright, what do people have in their incubator? I have to live vicariously through all of you since mine are empty. I am so fighting to hold off until February before I put more in it. I have so many silkie eggs right now but just do not want any chicks unless a hen is caring for them--but I can still hear what everyone else is hatching!
Also, do we have anyone on here that raise rose comb RIRs? Or have in the past? Just wondering what they are like in personality.![]()

I always set silkie eggs. That is about the only thing I set on a regular basis, year round.
Anyone have naked neck silkies?
I haven't been having any problems with the page jumping on the new BYC. Weird..I'm using IE too.
Ok, so this may be a really dumb question but I'm going to ask anyways. I have hens that have gone broody before, but I'm looking to find a REALLY broody hen. I know Silkies and Cochins are good broodies...but exactly how broody are they? For instance, if I bought hatching eggs and put them in a nest would one of those breeds just decide to go ahead and sit on them? Or would they already have to be acting broody? I'm trying to figure all this out before spring...When my call duck starts laying I'd like to try and hatch eggs from her but have heard calls don't typically get very broody. I have an incubator that does OK...but not very good. It's a really old LG and I'm not at the point where I want to buy a new incubator. ( I really really want to get a Brinsea incubator but need to save up) Any information/advice would be great. I know it's a very newbie question but I don't have too much experience with broodies![]()
