I've heard from several people that Sebrights are mean. He's thinking about Jersey Giants or Polish at this point. I think Polish would be easy for him and a good compliment to all of our silkies. He can probably sell a couple to my silkie customers. And he'll have lots of time because we've decided to homeschool next year. I'm so excited! We're going to have so much fun. Lots of learning opportunities on the farm too! He's going to have his own little business and keep track of revenue & expenses. Figure that will count for some course of school!

And.... drum roll please... I finally convinced Cole to sell some stocks to make up the difference in our downpayment so the house is back on! Our builder was out yesterday and we changed the build spot so we have our big pond in the back. It will be so awesome! He said we should be in it by May 1st.

I do love my Jersey Giants! And even better than them I adore my Langshans but those are rare and would more likely be difficult for him. They are larger than JGs, too. But my roo gets a lot of compliments and admiration from visitors.
Polish sound awesome and maybe even frizzled Polish. Those are the bomb!
Ah, geez! I better stop telling myself how beautiful other breeds are or I will wind up with yet another one and I haven't the time for more breeding projects.

Great to hear about home schooling. I wish I had the patience for it and might have tried it if I had had more than one child. But Leah loves JrROTC so much that I hate to take her away from social aspects since she isn't a very social person. Nothing like her mama!

And fabulous to hear about your house....again! Terrific!

No offense, but is IS your fault...

remember telling Kris and I that he always locks his keys in the car? you jinxed yourself.

LOL
Yes! And it is so true
He is forever locking his keys inside a car and I can never find a place that will make a copy of the key for less than $100. Something about "obsolete". LOL I drive old cars and trucks for a reason.
But I did have a spare on the Olds at one time. I can have a duplicate made for that one, just never needed it before now.
And he has locked himself out of his Honda several times so I really need a duplicate to that one, if he ever gets it back. LOL
I really enjoyed my Taurus since it was a keyless entry but DH killed that one. He isn't allowed to drive my ruck now. We make him use the Olds to take the trash to the dump. I gotta keep one vehicle running!

Yea!!! So glad about the house.if anyone else decides to buy land and build around you later, they will owe you, big time! You will have helped them tremendously with the property values.
i think homeschooling will be great for you and the kids. There is so much of the farm life that can be used in the lessons and you will enjoy having the flexibility of the schedule. In Greenville, there are so many homeschoolers. It amazes me how many kids we see during the day at our office, instead of just after school, because they are homeschooled. Makes our schedule work much easier, too!
I still hope to visit you next week with Lou Ann. She gets back in town on Wednesday. I think it is supposed to rain Wednesday and maybe Thursday morning. I will see what the weather is looking like and your schedule is looking like later in the week.

I would have loved to homeschool Nicole....but back then, no one really did it much. So we "afterschooled" ... after school and on weekends we did other learning stuff. It was one of the ways I kept her from being bored learning at school. She was ahead of the other kids and it was good when she got old enough to go into special programs in elementary school. I stopped doing it in 7th grade, we still did a few things, but mostly we did school projects and stuff together after that...she was in advanced classes and that was the best for her because she wasn't as bored.

When she was little she loved to read encyclopedias!

LOL Great minds.....
We used to do stuff like this, too, when Leah was much younger.
Started out with math and counting fruit as I cut it up for her after daycare, then as she got older and I left her at home with her dad during the summer while I worked I would leave her work books to do as well as chores and checked it with her when I got home. However, if she didn't understand how to work problems or figure out stuff then I was pretty lost in how to explain it.
