PATSY--U stole my thunder with your d'Uccles...I just posted pics of my babies and U put ur pretty pics of yours up!!!!

That Roo is AWESOME!!!!! So pretty!!! hen way cute too!! I just love my mf d'Uccle hens so sweet...

Yours are beautiful also... I did not mean to steal your young birds fame...They deserve their bragging rights...they are VERY nice!!! I think mine are just a little older and you know how much they change in aging and molts and stuff! I thought yours are wonderful and I was feeling a little sad cause I JUST had to catch mine and crated them to go to DD's tomorrow because I need the little coop for chicks of another breed and was sad...your's are very pretty birds and made me want to post mine because...LOL...what goes to DD's may not come back!!!

I have been looking at your pics for a while as you post and think you have VERY nice birds! Love the coop and run also...you are doing a very nice job there...And I agree with you...the D'Uccle are sooo sweet!

I only have the pair...George is 2+ years but Gracie is a pullet and NEVER laid yet! I fear DD will never give them back!!! Suits me right though I guess since SHE got them for me a long while back...LOL

They are precious, Yancy!
I love Willow's face. So cute! But the personality would be what you would love most about LuLu.
Their foot feathers are staying in great shape and the sand is an awesome place for them to play and scratch as well as the rock and roost! You made them a terrific pen and I am sure they were worried about Daddy being in the house all by himself last night ( they don't think the dogs are real company for you!).
Did you leave their coop door open or did you close them up for the night?

It is neat to see the pattern coming in on them. They still have a long way to grow but by the end of summer you will have fantastic almost grown up babies!
Kimberly laughed at me today when I told her I put all six of my Porcelain d'Uccles back into the brooder room at night. They look so grown up but they are my baby birds. I enjoy the cuddles I get morning and evening with them. I am not doing so well with the MF I have in the house. I haven't had the time to pet them as much as I would like.

Super job on your pen and super birds! Love them!

Where is everyone today? Hope all is well out there!

I've been OUTSIDE in the sunshine! I'm loving this weather, wish it would stay. I had lots of customers to catch up with since we've had so much rain and bad weather in the past few weeks. I hope for a repeat tomorrow but that isn't what is predicted. I have a lot of work to catch up on too. Spring fever hit me the day after Christmas.

My hens are laying well and I have an auction up but not on BYC. If you want hatching eggs I can fix you up but I sold all I hatched the past few weeks. They go super fast. My flock is so beautiful.

I am going to foster home my two D'Uccle to DD tomorrow...geez I miss them already...here is George and Gracie! They are both sooo sweet!!!

They look like they have really bloomed out well in your care, Patsy! Their feet and faces look so nice and clean. Mine always look like they have been diving head first into a mud bath or dirt pit!
I know you will miss the buggers but Sam will take the best of care of them. And if you don't get them back then there are always chicks from the many crosses she will have made!
I am glad to hear you are growing out so many new birds. Now for some nice weather for a while so you can add coops and pens.

I have to agree with you - of all the birds available out there you picked a sweet sweet breed here! You have some really pretty D-Uccles but also they look sooo sweet and friendly and happy! Mine are a miss-matched pair. I have an older roo and a young pullet that looks good but also has been spending half the day on a nest for 8-10 weeks now...I think she may not ever lay an egg. But they are so precious and make the sweetest cooing noises! I love the coop and run you have made for yours! Is that sand in there? That is an idea I may steal from you!!! LOL Geez those feathered feet are hard to keep!

Don't feel bad, you are not alone! Mary has to go out and check on hers if she thinks she forgot to close a door or lock someone up at night. I, personally, would never do that.

I can say that in just a few weeks on sand my Duccles foot feathers are looking much better...On the hard ground thier feathers were getting all broke off but it seems the sand shifts with them some and helps!! Wish I had found that trick just a little sooner or I have a gal I would show!! The potential is there...just tattered

I agree with you!!! LOVE the D'Uccles...I just hope DD may let me get them back eventually! LOL

Seriously...I have to have a little room here and she got me these so she is helping a LOT fostering them for me right now... at least till her DH...I LOVE her DH!...LOL...comes and builds me more "room"...lol
