I'm with you about this stupid wind Amy. My farm sign blew away, the tin roof blew off one coop, I've lost the rubbermaid trash can lid to my feed barrel. I'll post a list tomorrow of all the missing property, it might show up in one of your yards. Hang on everybody, I think we have a few more days of this.

What wind?

DH said it was bad windy.

I was like "Oh I am not feeling it"

I did think it was very hot. At least inside my little SUV. DD kept getting cold and turning heat over on HOT. I would crack my window and the heat would blast out harder!

ETA: It was windy all day everywhere we went...but we were in the suv most of the time!

KrisH is driving me crazy. The eggs we acquired from WestKnollAmy should be hatching next weekend, and we are hoping to get 2 Bantams from Amy, so the 1 3x6 "brooder" pen with wire sides will be used for the bantams for a while, so I need a new brooder box. we go and discuss the size at home depot and pick up parts. Now that I have it almost finished Kris says "wow it's relly big" I said thanks, then i find out she means the brooder. We discussed making it 4x4 and 2 feet high. All was great until it was put together.

Too bad Kris I'm keeping it the way it is and the babues will have extra space.

Seems like with mine, the bigger the brooder - the less space I have.... I think the chicks duplicate when placed in a brooder.

I KNEW IT!!!!

HEY BLONDIE.....good guess......now what else would I drive that far for?

It would not have bothered me to come back with NOTHING though.

It was go there first or go to Susannes. Susanne's is closer & I want to make at least two trips down there before summer........so I went with furthest trip first :)

Has anyone who sells hatching eggs ever shipped internationally? I have a request for eggs in Pakistan and I have no idea if it's even possible. I have had people take my eggs into Africa and Italy in a suitcase but that's as close to international shipping as I've ever gotten. I'm thinking that by the time the eggs got through Customs they wouldn't be viable.

I am a bit of a skeptic, so...

A) probably not legal st ship them out of the country without LOTS of paperwork. I don't even think you can take an apple with you.

B) watch out for some kind of scam (fake check or money order etc..)

C) I hear stories of scrambled eggs shipping across state let alone half way arount the world.

My $0.02

By no means is this saying don't try, just be careful.

OK, Amy, this really is getting crazy! Norman died a few years ago, but Dorothy still lives there and still owns at least one trailer park that I know of.

I'm starting to wonder if we compared stories long enough if we might not discover we're third cousins or something!

Sorry about your tractors and coop. I hope you don't lose birds, but it really is frigid out there. Hope they'll all huddle up and keep warm.

Couldn't be 3rd cousins but we were close neighbors! We just didn't know it. My parents built their house back in the 50's and passed away still owning it and though my brother lived in the neighborhood and married a local woman (lived on State Park Rd, too but up near the Fire Dept.) and his kids and 2nd ex wife still live in his house over near Paris Elementary but he passed away over 2 years ago.
So cool to meet and talk about the old neighborhood. We probably will realize we know more folks the more we talk. Goodness knows, we both love chickens!
