Lost my Tiny Self Blue OE last night...she has only ever laid me one egg and Friday she was in the nest box when we left for Newnan...when we got home Sat it was dark so she was on roost...Sunday she spent all day in and out of box and looked like she was straining and was all puffed out so yesterday morn I put her in a sink of warm water for half an hour with no luck.Then I put her in a crate on a warm pad and she ate and drank well. I had hope because she looked like she was feeling better but still no egg.Then at 4am she had what sounded like a seizure and by time I got to her she was passed.She must have been egg bound but I am not sure what I was feeling for trying to check.She was nice and meaty,clear eys/nose,no trouble breathing,and no sign of mites. I wormed my flock about 3 weeks ago.I was told by a breeder that this was a problem to watch for when I bought my other gal who lays all the time...he talked me into a bigger gal of his so I would have a good layer since my guy is so small and I will sill get small chicks.....
