I keep standard size white crested, black polish and I do love them. They have a very sweet temperament. They aren't laying well, just started back since last Fall. So I am incubating eggs to check for fertility but I suspect it is still early. They don't seem to like cold weather. I'll hopefully be hatching chicks soon. I would love to add some white crested blues to my flock but haven't found any yet.

OMG...I haven't seen any WC Blues!!! I would be sooo ... lost for words on that one... going now to GOOGLE! HAHAHA You are a wicked enabler!!!

I'm checking the fertility of the few polish eggs that I'm getting, I'll let you know how they look in a few days. Would love to trade

What I hate is I have been required to travel a lot lately for work so had to direct SO to fridge the few and far between Polish eggs that my one hen lays (about 2 a week right now) but hopefully it looks like I will be home for a few weeks now and finally got a second 'bator to be able to rotate out...BIG THANKS TO DD!!!! but you know how that can be...especially since I have only had 2 "hatchings" and running about 50% success...looking forward to maybe working something up with you! Geez...I hate to have him to fridge then boil then pickle my few Polish eggs!!! I had no choice due to my timeline lately...

Oh My Goodness!! Don't tell me these things - I cringe at the thought of pickled polish eggs. I feel the obligation to hatch every single egg that I don't sell for hatching from my breeding pens. It's very hard to eat those eggs.

Whew! What an awesome day! I so loved going with my good buds, Kimberly and Jackie! I really enjoyed talking with Mary, Samantha and Nikki! And I enjoyed meeting Walt and some others for the first time. I am sorry, Walt, that I did not get a photo with you. Too much going on to get it all done!

Above are my sweet friends, Mary, Jackie and Kimberly! I'm the one with the goofy look. I was drunk on too much fun!

Here is Samantha, the next best mouth of the south! We are certainly very much alike! Love my Sam Bam!

And sweet Nikki! You would never guess that she was trying to keep up with 2 little boys that have more energy than a bunch of puppies! And Nikki, I am sorry you did not get one those great pups! They were awesome! Maybe soon.......

Had a blast with everyone. Picked up some terrific birds and now have a tons to do to catch up on the farm.

Well, thought I'd leave my monthly post on the SC page..........

It was good to see all of you yesterday at Morganton. Sorry we had to split so quick, our dog sitters managed to lock themselves out of the house....

Sorry I missed you Walt, but check your pm's you're not too far from me. Also Darlene Hobbs lives in Lancaster, she has some lovely birds......

See you all in Winston!
