I found an idea a year ago on some chicken website to stop the chicks/chickens from wasting feed and it has really worked well for me.
I get buckets from Ingles bakery--1 gal. for chicks--3 gal for chickens. (5 gal. will work). Don't get the garlic butter one, they will not clean up. I take a 3 or 4 inch hole saw and drill 4 holes spaced around the bucket a couple of inches down from the top rim. The chickens can stick their head in and eat but don't rake the food out. You can hang them or set on floor.
For the chicks I drill them 3-4 inches up from the bottom on the 1 gal. The chicks can get inside but do not usually scratch the feed out too bad. I use these for the silkies too.
Just estimate the height the chick or chicken will need to reach its head in and eat.

Hmmm...sounds like an idea! Those one gallon ice cream buckets should work too?? I think this is similar to what Amy was trying to say also...I will definitely give this a try! THANKS EVERYONE for the suggestions!

I had a LOT of problems when the BYC site upgraded so I upgraded my IE to version 8 and that took care of it! (IE = Internet Explorer) Didn't cost me anything to do...

I already had IE version 8. I was using mozilla firefox (latest version) and it would jump so much, it was irritating. I would click on NC thread and it would jump about that time and I would end up on the Fla. thread.

I downloaded Google. BYC works a lot better on google.
I feel like I was crusing along in a Lexus and all of a sudden I was riding in the Jed Clampett (Beverly Hillbillies) mobile.

Oh well, everything changes eventually.

I guess I am lucky...other than the color change and the bidding in forum I have had no changes to how I have to navigate BYC. I know some use thier phone and on Iphone there are issues...I rarely use my droid to visit but even then its the same

It would be nice if it was that way for everyone so we can all be happy! You would think they would work on the issues more???

We have finally settled/found a farm name that works for the entire family and has an availible web and email name!!!! We are going with JSDJ Farm! That is everyones first initial!! And when I search it no other farm comes up!! (prob jinxed that) but I registered the domain already so yay!!! But I have a LOOONG way to go on the site!! My main goal was getting started...the rest I can work on!.

Interesting because I have a choice to make soon in upgrading my Blackberry (OK CRACKBERRY!!! because it blocks me from BYC) so I still am not sure whether to go with an Android or an iPhone...looking for all input I can get!!! I sure would love to be able to do FB and BYC and surf the net...which would be better for me?

IDK...I have no probs on the droid...you need input from Iphone users! Alot of people I know have them and love them!! I have the droid because of alltel but I love it and I have a pod for music so all my bases are covered!!

I agree with that!!! Gotta just LOVE John...

But I always think of You first..then John...then the Babies...(OK..not babies now!!...can we call them adolescents?...makes me seem younger!!!) LOL Geez! I am OLD!!!

So in my mind it is - and will always be - SJDJ..so sorry!!! .
