Speaking of the Winston-Salem show today........one of my bantam Cochins I sold last fall won today!

I am so excited as he was one I bred and this is an APA show! How awesome that another one of mine has done well in a show. It always makes me happy to see that. I feel like I am doing something right, even if for my own pleasure.

Hi Susanne!

I didn't know you were a member here, too. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about the losses - that is so sad.

Good luck with the new house! What a beautiful place you have and that new house will be just wonderful.

How's Tigger?

BTW - Huckeye, Buttercup, Butterbean, and the four chicks are all doing wonderfully. I just love them all. :)

Oh, how awful for all of you who just found hens dead in their pen! That has to be terrible, and puzzling!

That is sad...tube feeding doesn't take any longer than bottle...just a stronger stomach for it...it can seem brutal as they usually put up a fight when tubing them...and its risky if you miss the right tube so to speak but I would be willing to come get him and try and save him...

He's still alive although I haven't fed him anything in three days. He refuses to eat and Cole said trying to take on tube feeding with everything else going on (and, I hate to say it, for a ram we really don't need), is just too much. I'm so frustrated with him! He's getting skinnier and weaker every day. I keep trying to feed him, thinking he'll be hungry enough to eat but he won't. Even if I squirt formula in his mouth, he won't swallow. It just runs out. The other one is doing great though. Live and learn!

I am sooo tired...we went to North Augusta today to help the inlaws with some MAJOR yard cleaning...I even managed to squeeze in a sale to a very nice lady and her kids down there and added Self Blue D'Uccles to my flock from another BYCer!! YAY!!

Awesome!!! Congrats.

I am sorry to hear of all the chicken losses and other critters. How terrible. I know it can happen but it always seem to be disturbing in our cycle of life. So far so good here but I am sure once the temps get over 90 I will find my share. I worry most about my Cochins with all those feathers. They seem miserable but I make sure I hose down the coops and they have ice water.
