South Carolina

Week! That is so exciting! Yeah... I would be staring at it all day too. Hope you get out of shell babies soon!

On a different subject... My farm that had chicks hatching only had 2 Barr Rock babies hatch.. Both Roos. Dangit! I was *so* hoping to get my babies semi-locally rather than being shipped. Anyone have any baby girl BRs that need a home? Pretty much willing to drive anywhere in SC. Looking for 2-3 girl babies.
If not, I will order from My Pet Chicken. If anyone in the midlands also wants to order, let's talk about doing a combo and seeing if we can ship together.

Sigh. Dang it. Soooo disappointed!

I just wanted to THANK everyone for such a fun day...it was nice to chat and catch up all at once and meet some new faces!! And intro some faces to each other too!! Ya'll all rock!!
Samatha -sorry I missed. Amy said you guys had a blast talkin up chickens. I hate I missed it! Hopefully Soon Again we can meet!!!!

OK so here's the ladder for the D'Uccle habitat( I like this word better than coop and run)

UPDATE:: At 9:30pm I checked on our lone chick. He's pipping through even further now. You can even see his little beak through the shell now. It's super cute :) I've also added a picture so everyone can see... I'll update again as the hatch progresses..

Bless your heart! I remember my first eggs hatching...it was a sleepless two day event getting that first chick out...so exciting but grueling too! try to rest some because the chick will also take rest breaks and may take a while getting out that shell! I really hope you and me both wake up to a chick in your 'bator!!! I have been watching here almost as much as you have been watching there!!! Come on out little chickie!!!

Wow that is really nice Moonchild.. Did you build that yourself?
Momd29- Yeah super easy...I found three cedar trees(perfect size) then just cut them down made two the same length and cut 12"(steps) to go in them. Then just used a power drill and screwed them in and laid against the wire. Took longer to find them than to build. Any size tree should work.....hint if you do this ....the chickens will not like it at first but in time they will find it a Hoot!..

Patsy - I'm going to try to get some sleep, but i'm sure I'll end up laying in bed trying to force my eyes closed.. I'll be like a little kid on Christmas Eve who can't sleep from anticipation of all the gifts Santa will be bringing.. LOL

Moonchild - That ladder is super cute. I showed my DH a picture of it and told him I would love to have one like it. So I guess I've added a new project to my DH's Honey-do list LOL.. You really did do an awesome job.

I think I will regret being lazy today and not working on my "list of chores" today since we did have a semi-cloudy and breezy day today...lots to do tomorrow! Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day tomorrow!!! All-in-all - I have to say yesterday hangin' with some great friends from here was AWESOME! Thanks for being a great (Sam) hostess and (John) host!
