New to the hole chicken thing here. Had a long weekend off from work and was able to finish up the coop and run. I guess the next thing will be waiting for some eggs. I have 6 RIRs and 2 Speckled Sussex. What am I looking at for laying age. I've read anywhere from 5-7 months old. Does that sound about right?

I could not have said it better myself Patsy.. I know my birds have entirely taken over my life and brought me so much happiness and peace.. They are truly so entertaining. I can stay out at my coops for hours just sitting and watching them play. Chickens have so much personality that I never knew they had until I started raising chickens.. <3Oh WOW!!! Amen Patsy- My chickens are my therapy from my work. Therapy includes: Chickens, Wine and a place to sit and enjoy all that is around.(Now when I had my mean rooster) not such a great place but he has a better home..and Serenity has been restored to the backyard chicken paradise...lol Chickens Are The Best!!!Oh WOW!!! Well, thanks y'all. I've been working on it for a couple of weekends now. Glad y'all like it. I can post a few more pictures if you'd like. I didn't want to over do it. Since I'm new here, wasn't sure what was to much. Thanks for welcoming me to the SC forum section. I'm hope to learn a lot. What started off as an educational endeavor for the kids has turned into an enlighten experience for me. Here are some chicken pictures as requested. BTW Patsy, the chair is used a lot.
