Thank you everyone for all the support.. It's been a long couple of days for sure.. I barely slept any last night, impatiently waiting on our little pip squeak to hatch. We haven't had any more action from any of the other eggs. No wiggles, pips, or chirps :( I'm going to leave them for another day (just in case)... and cross my fingers.. It's funny though little pip squeak has been wobbling all over the incubator knocking around eggs.. We jokingly said he's saying "hey wake up, your turn.." LOL.. So my question to everybody.. I know they must stay in the incubator until they are dry? (right?) When do I move to brooder? When do I offer food for the first time? After the crazy incubating and hatching experience I want to make sure I do it right :) Oh and I almost forgot.. Congrats Pasty on the early pips

Wahooooo congrats!!! So any action out of the others?
Patsy how exciting and a day early! That is what I like to hear. I am Ms. Impatient herself!

I think we are all excited. That picture is great! If you need a buddy, we should have 11 Maran chicks next weekend! Since they are Amy's you know they will be beautiful!

Trying to catch up again. I swear, sometimes I just give up! LOL You all are chatter boxes, for sure!

Thank you for the compliment on my Marans. They are a handsome bunch. I have put several years into building this flock up for better meat production and egg layers along with great egg color. They are not show birds and I don't breed for that silliness with this breed, that's what my Cochins are for!

I breed Marans for meat and egg color, what they were bred for to start with. Oh yeah, and temperament! For anyone that has been here and been greeted by them they know what I am saying.

MOF, I think Lauren still has the blue copper Marans girl as her avatar. That is one from eggs she hatched from me. A real beauty!

So we had a total blast at Samantha's last Saturday!

So much fun and such great food and everyone was so great to meet! I loved seeing Kris, Robert, Patsy, Nikki and any others I may have forgotten to mention. AND I loved meeting all you new folks! Sam Bam is the BEST hostess! I sent her the photos I took but thought I would add this one to show you all that we had the Hostess with the Mostest!

I believe that is Avonshire in the photo with them?

The kids had a blast!

I am glad everyone enjoyed my brownies. They were from a box but I did use those wonderful duck eggs fresh from the nest that morning (have to as I sell out so quickly every day I don't have left overs!)

There are many other photos but I think Sam is going to post some on her FB page. If not, I can share more as I think I have some of everyone. Ha, ha, except me.

I also want to say congrats to one of our fellow members, Jackie. Yancy (Moonchild) and I went to her baby shower yesterday and had a wonderful time. I won't say all the remarks I got about being her chicken dealer but it was funny. I had to give her a funny gift. If you know me you know I love to have fun!

Do you see the look she is giving me? She just unwrapped the tissue from around the egg carton.

However, I knew she did not want eggs at this time so she got a bottle of Goats Milk baby lotion. I cut the center out of the egg carton and nestled the bottle of lotion in there. Surprise! LOL I gave her some other things, too for her and baby Witt.
Yancy gave her a gorgeous homemade basket stuffed with lots of goodies for her and the baby, too!
Knowing that Jackie loves her chickens someone gave her this great stuffed Silkie for Witt to learn the love of chickens. Wish I had found one to give her! This was fantastic!

Jackie is due July 4th. We shall see if she makes it that long.

Yep! My avatar is my sweet "Penny" that I hatched from you. She is a gorgeous girl, though honestly I'm not sure I've ever gotten an egg from her! She will get in the nest box and stay there but I never find an egg. She is the one that last year would lay a verrry fragile brittle egg and ate it immediately after laying..so I'm not sure if she just is an egg eater or what! But I love her regardless!!

I'm so sad I wasn't able to make it to this! Next time around I WILL be there!! I always love getting to see my "chicken friends" and getting to meet new ones!

You missed a great party! Everyone was soooo nice and fun and though it was a bit warm, it was well worth it. I think Kimberly and I stayed until about 10 pm! LOL And if you think we helped clean up....nope. I have terrible manners.

And if they have not bull dozed the pool out next time we may can get wet. Although, the huge whirlpool will be nice, too! Of course, the lake is just a hop, skip and a jump.
