Amy, I never thought of a Fox! Although we have so many coyotes around here that we do not see many foxes.

Well, with some time on my hands today I took a few pictures--no one really wanted to cooperate but I got a few!

Patsy, here is a picture of the "Boys", Jasper and Purdy! They are never very far away when I am outside.



This bunch always comes running to see if I have any food! It is a mix of Black Copper Marans from Amy and some Australorps from a breeder in Iowa. Hard to tell them apart except by the feathers on the legs. Oh, except for the one roo with copper hackles!



Her is one of my hens I got last year from EmpyNester. I lost her mother but as you can see now she is a mother herself! I hope they are all little hens!

And Samantha and I both breed the d'Uccles, if you need any different blood. Our bloodlines are different from each other and the pen I have going has a roo from Yancy that came from Teddiliza and my hens are from the Schultz line. Both show lines and I know the Schultz birds have been winners of the d'Uccles. Samantha's line also are from show birds and I have some of those eggs cooking in my bator so I can add yet more bloodline diversity. She will be getting eggs from me as soon as my girl's eggs are a bit bigger. They just started laying. Samantha's bloodlines are from Lori (wegotchickens) in TN. That is also where my beloved "Bride" comes from.

Did you get your Australorps from Jim Heinz? I have Iowa Blues from him. Samantha has some other breed from him. Maybe Australorps, too.

It's a shame you don't live closer as I have lots of SLW pullets. I have a gorgeous rooster that fathers beautiful daughters. He is from the Foley line but the hens he breeds are from several other bloodlines. I get a lot of girls to hatch from their eggs!
I am not selling Marans until later in the year as I figure out who and what to keep but I usually sell those in pairs if I can. Though the roos are tasty I prefer they are enjoyed alive since they are so beautiful instead of in my freezer. However, this year it seems is a "pullet" year and most of what is hatching is girls! Finally!

Amy, how old are your SLW pullets?

Hello everyone, I am in Asheville, NC and trying to find a home for these 4 baby chicks:





The first pair are about 5 weeks old, and the 2nd pair are about 3 weeks old. These pics were taken a week ago.

I was wondering if someone nearby would be able to adopt them, since I won't be able to take care of them where I live when they get bigger. I would be willing to deliver them myself for free to a good home, and I'm willing to drive a few hundred miles (or more) if that's what it takes to help them.

Thanks for all the compliments Amy...I do not have Astros though and what I got from Jim was wonderfull duck eggs that I failed at!! LOL Then someone (AMY of course) told me to spritz duck eggs and I have had a sucessfull hatch thanks to her and a donation of runner duck eggs to practice on....of course Amy is right and I will gladly share eggs for diversity if you want! Love helping my BYC family!!

I am SURE there is someone here that will help! I think I am a little far (on the GA line in SC) But PM me if you still have them in a month or 2 (I'd have to clear my current confinement coop before I could introduce anyone new.)
