OMG, that was a whipping storm last night. Why did it have to hit right at birdie bedtime???

I got everyone in fine but realized in the middle of the night I forgot to plug in the mature chicks light out in the new duck pen. Bless their hearts! They were wet and chilly all night!

Got 24 chicks hatched out this morning and 3 eggs left to go. All my own and lots of different breeds.

I see Snick is in the gardening and spring mode! I still need to order my seeds. Can't wait! Our greenhouse is almost done!

Good thing about the muggy buggy coast is that most of those lines of major storms go north of us. The bad thing is that the hurricanes come right in!

I have lavender (although it will be several more months until they start laying), white, black, blue, splash, partridge. I should have hatching eggs and chicks available in the next few months. All of my breeding stock came from Bobbi Porto and Catdance Silkies. They're pretty!

So, I lost power last night for just under 4 hours,

but I kept the bator closed and a blanket on top of it to help hold heat. The power came back on

, and the bator came back to the temp and humidity it was supposed to be. My question is will this just prolong the hatching by a few hours or did it really hinder these babies from arriving period??
