I use to breed Parakeets and cockatiels and Ring-neck doves and JavaRice Finches. I currently have parakeets(as pets) and an African Grey(she has OCB and a talker). and of couse I have bigger birds now..CHICKENS haha!!!
Do you ever sell your Canaries? I love the gloster canaries(beetles hair cut lol). I think the red factor are amazing! I have never had a canary and maybe in the future would love to have an Awesome Singer!!! And your Cordon Bleu Finches are also way to pretty!

Thanks so much Moonchild! I still have a lot of pictures I want to add to my website, but that is time consuming and I haven't the time right now. I started with canaries, my first love! Went CRAZY with them, just like I have the chickens. Yes, I have the glosters and they are so sweet and cute. I found one of my green gloster hens on the cage floor today, she'd made herself a nest with spilled seeds and feathers and was sitting on 2 eggs! LOL I haven't paired them up for breeding yet so I moved her into a breeding cage. I didn't breed them last year as there wasn't a market for them and I was too busy with chickens. I've had some requests this year so I plan to breed a "few". I miss not having the chicks, but they require eggfood and that is one more job for me. I also have the red factors, but I'm not color feeding them right now. I actually prefer the natural colors, they range from orange sherbert to pale red and they are very pretty birds. I have recessive whites (which are rare), bronze mosaics, yellows, blue whites ..... Just let me know when you're ready - I can probably come up with something.

Once you have the sound of a canary in your house, you won't want to ever be without it. That "springtime" sound of birds singing literally gets me through the dark, short winter days. I also have blue diamond doves, which are very calming to watch and hear. I have parakeets, zebra finches, lady gouldians and I have white fan tailed pigeons. I did have some java finches, they were fun birds, but I sold them to go into a bigger aviary. I hated keeping them in a cage and I didn't have a flight to put them in. One of these days I'm gonna have a walk in flight and then I will have some Wydah finches too.

My wish list just goes on and on - but right now I have much more room outside (for chickens) than I do inside for finches. Thanks again for looking at my website. Check back later as I have lots of canary pictures to add.

Yay, Eric!

Came home today after being gone for several hours and the top had fallen off my incubator.

No idea how long it had been off. I'm just sick thinking about all the money I spent on those eggs! Most of them go into Lockdown this weekend so I'll just have to hope they are okay.

Congrats Eric! I have 3 chicks in the brooder (2 BSL, 1 BO)! 12 more (BA) still cooking in the bator.
