I'm not sure about the garden issue I do t free range (in a no spacious subdivision) and my EE's & RSL's would be long gone up & over our privacy fence lol! I think seperate area for broilers is great idea . Might also wanna look into making pop door, pulley , or sliding door that doesnt require you to enter run (if there will be one) to put them away nights or let out in am. Also more appealing for chicken sitters while your away lol! Best advice I have is go BIGGER than you imagine you want because chicken math will kick in & it's much easier jus add birds opposed to adding onto your coop!! EE's are great birds mine lay well & ya got love those blue/green eggs !!

Yay I finally moved my new flock into the new coop! We've had so many rainy days I didn't think we'd ever get finished. And I'm not complete, still have to get the shingles on and the run complete. Got the outside painted yesterday and a low roosting pole up.maybe I'll get the water and feeder hung up tomorrow lol! They're all.12 - 15 wks old 5 pullets and 2 cockrells. I'll have to build another coop and split them( chicken math),, but I wonder how long th boys will the live togeather peacefully?
