Welcom wchepooh! I'm also a newbie from Pickens county. Still having a little trouble navigating the site, as a member! I've been using byc for a long time as a great resource. I've just moved a new flock of pullets into a new coop. Still have to put shingles on and complete the run. We built the coop based on some of the great coops we saw on this site. So inspiring I just wish I'd made it larger!Lol

Im still learning technology! Lol. Hard to quote and post w my phone. Yes, we've aalready enlarged the covered run and their pen area! And still I wish it was bigger. Chicken math definitely got to me. My husband thinks I've lost my mind. You'll have to post pics of your coop!

What kinds of chicks do you have? I've got a 3 yr. old trio of Gold Laced wyandotts, the new pullets are double laced barnevelders ..seven of them blue, black and splash

I have 2 barred rocks, 1 americauna, 1 buff orp, 1 black australorp, 5 Silkies. And now, the Serama. I'm selling most of the Serama. I've had the most fun this spring/summer w all the babies. I'm still waiting for my first egg and my 3 big girls are over 20 weeks. The suspense is killing me!

The suspense is part of the fun & the agony lol! Our 20 week old RSL's layed first egg yesterday !! We were thrilled now just waiting on those sweet silkies !!!

If anyone wants a guinea, there is one loose in Clinton at i26 exit 52. I met someone there to buy her guinea fowl flock, and one escaped during transfer. I tried to catch/lure/trap for 3 hours and failed. You catch, you can keep. I feel horrible for it, but I had to get home to my kids (I live an hour away).

Is any on here from the mid-state area. I see a lot from the upper and lower state area. Im close to Ft. Jackson and would love to get some more silkies. I have 2 roos and 1 hen and could use a few more hens or pullets or chicks. Is there somewhere where I can find out about sales or swaps in this state? Thank a bunch!
