South Carolina

Hello everyone. I'm looking to move to the Carolinas next year and was looking for some suggestions. I'd love to find a small home/cabin on a few acres in the mountains but would like something where it doesn't drop below 30 or if so, very rarely. I haven't been up there since I was a kid so need some help on what cities/counties allow chickens without restrictions. Thanks in advance. Tammy

Anyone close to Newberry/Prosperity SC
I wish to breed a couple of my hens in the spring but I really do not wish to house any more roosters.
I would be looking for a couple breeds to borrow for mating purposes only. Would have to see a current photo of the rooster
when the time comes around and for these breeds I am looking for purebreds. I wish to have several groups of heritage birds, since my group should be becoming part of "The Livestock Conservancy" this fall.

I wanted to 'Go Local' with this to start, but have found no one on my list as of yet with the breeds I am looking for.

Looking for Silver Laced Wyandotte & Partridge Plymouth Rock Pure Roosters

Just something for anyone interested to think on, again I will not be working on this project until the spring, I have enough chicks
on hand at this very moment, and do not plan on working with anymore until maybe March...:)

Hope everyone has a Blessed Weekend

We're excited to see several of the chickens in our flock are on the recovering list Wyandotte & Plymouth Rock
and We are keeping a trio of Buckeye Chicks when we get them in this coming week. We plan to keep 3 and sell the rest to spread them in our county a little bit.

We are picking up a threated species today a pair of Sultans in White. I hope to find a black pair soon too.

Polish are on the Watch list so where we were getting a few to have for sale at our Event on October 18th in Newberry we'll probably be keeping one in each color :)

Anyway What I sell will feed them thru the winter along with our greens patch and the fresh corn we froze for them from this summer.
along with our simple wall and door we're adding to our long front coop to divide it into two chicken living spaces.

we are planning on breeding a few mixes in 2015 with our two beautiful EE boys. Because they are so interesting, and one is a Wyandotte blend. Hopefully I can talk to the breeder to see what the other was bred with, hopefully we have a match in our pens as well.

Anyone that can give us a little insight on whether this is a good match or not would be most appreciated. We are putting an AmeraucanaXSLWyandotte rooster over a SLWyandotte hen. I was hoping for a similar looking chicken to come from this match up Striking White on black maybe with fluffy cheeks.

NightWing is our roo and Alice in our hen you can look both up in my profile photos of you need them.
NightWIng is 13 weeks now ALice is 22 weeks. So we'll be looking a good mature chicken in March/April

Hi, I saw where you be in Hartsville on the weekend after next, at the tractor supply for a chick sale. Is that right? I had planned on coming. I wondered how much do you sell your lavender orpington chicks for? I have 4 pullets and 4 cockerals right now. I will sell 2 of the roo's later after they are grown. I would like to get a few more hens. And also I saw that you have some splash orp's. How much are those? I may be interested in a couple of them. Sherri Dowey

Thanks for giving the right place. I will be there. I would like to get some lavender orpington pullets, maybe 3 and 2 splash orpington pullets and 1 cockeral. Are you going to be in the store or outside? Sherri Dowey

I wish I was not working that day!
Is there anyway we could start a buy sell or trade/ swap thread? I know that they don't want us advertising on this thread but what is the best way to communicate that you have something availible to the local peeps?
